Michael Jordan's horrible taste in clothes has been noted for years. From his horrible jeans to his over sized suits and everything in between, Jordan might go down as the best athlete and worst dressed athlete of all time.
But his clothes have never got him in trouble, right? Wrong.
Jordan showed up at La Gorce Counry Club in Miami Beach, Fla. wearing cargo pants for his round of golf. Apparently cargo pants aren't on the list of appropriate garb for golfers, and things got a little testy.
From the New York Post report ...
"Michael was wearing cargo pants on the course," said a spy. Jordan's multipocketed pants were apparently against the dress code that, sources say, dictates that members and guests must be attired in a collared shirt and Bermuda shorts. But when 6-foot, 6-inch Jordan was offered a chance to change outfits, he demurred.
"He was given the chance to change but he didn't want to," a source said. The source added that Jordan, who was enjoying a round at the club with one of its members, played on anyway. The source added that members complained about Jordan breaking the rules and, "He won't be invited back."
A rep with Jordan said the Post report wasn't entirely true, and that Jordan was approached about his outfit on the 12th hole but at that point decided not to change because he, and I quote, "didn't want to interrupt his game."
Some might think this is the time that I take Jordan to task for wearing a ridiculous outfit at a super exclusive golf course, but what did La Gorce expect? This is a guy who once wore this. And this. And this. And still puts a hoop earring in everyday. Honestly, cargo pants are probably considered an upgrade.
But as they say, there are a million fish in the sea, and thousands of golf courses on this fine Earth. I'm sure Jordan will find a few that don't mind if the best-ever basketball player shows up in a tutu.
